MRI Specialists Cluster Headache Treatment Centers
Patients that have headache often have symptoms relating to their eyes and neck. Although patients that have cluster headache are effectively treated by blocking the nerves behind the eye, little is know about how this treatment improves the symptoms of a cluster headache. The study aimed to look at the relationship between the three main nerves in the head and the nerves responsible for sight, as well as the effect of blocking the nerves behind the eye has on cluster headache patients. 15 patients experiencing cluster headache were examined before and after they were given a substance to block the nerves behind the eye on the side that the headache occured. Only 9 of the 15 patients reported that the treatment had slightly improved their cluster headache. The rest reported that the treatment had no effect.
